Science Coalition to Host Congressional Briefings Featuring Companies Created from Federally Funded Research

On October 25, The Science Coalition will host two briefings on Capitol Hill with the researcher-entrepreneurs and CEOs of companies spun out of federally funded university research. Moderated by Orin Herskowitz, Senior Vice President, Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer, Columbia University, and Executive Director, Columbia Technology Ventures, the panel discussions will explore the innovations these companies are bringing to market, the role of federal funding in company formation, opportunities and obstacles encountered along the way, and ideas for encouraging more American-made innovation.
